To reset the default user account (admin) or any other Main Console user account follow the steps below:
1. Make sure that the Main Console application is closed
2. Open Registry Editor in Windows on the HDVR itself
3. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\NIPsurveillance\NewUserAccount
Here, you will see all of the user accounts created. The default admin account is User00, and so on. Click on one of these and look to the right side of the editor and under the Name key, you will see the username for that account. Once you find the account you want to reset the password for, simply delete the Password key under that user. This will remove the password, and when you open Main Console the next time, you can leave the password field blank and click OK at the login prompt.
You can then go to Settings>User Account Settings and set a new password for the account.
