Adding “Action Sets” to the Rules and Rooms app. They work as follows…

  1. The “Manage Profiles” button in the Rules app is being changed to “Manage Profiles and Action Sets”

  2. If Action Sets exist the customer can create automation and security rules when the Action Set is Activated… for example if an Action Set call “Turn on livingroom lights” Action Set is created then you can make a rule to say “When the Turn on livingroom lights Action Set is activated then turn on the desk lights and livingroom switch”

    1. This allows you to group actions together to be used in multiple places so instead of listing the same set of actions on multiple conditions you can create an Action Set and activate that Action Set

    2. One important point is the trigger devices will not carry through to Action Set rules… for example… you currenlty can’t create an Action Set the triggers an action to “Unlock the same device” because the same device won’t mean anything within the Action Set. Might add this as it would be useful to create an Action Set call “unlock access control door” that does all the standard things for unlocking then the rules for the doors could just activate that action set…

  3. In the Rooms app adding the capability to add an Action Set to a room as a button. So you could add the “Turn on livingroom lights” button your you Livingroom room in the rooms app. Basically adding a custom button to your app….

This feature was driven by the new desktop panels we’re working on that will always be logged in… becomes very useful to be able to do a bunch of actions with a single button press

When it’s released the apps will just be updated and it will appear for customers….
